Shelter
- Medica Shelter accommodates women and women with children upon decision of Medica Therapy team. In accordance with Protocols on Cooperation institutions such as Police, Centre for social Welfare may refer women in need to Medica shelter.
- Shelter is designed for women and children victims/survivors of domestic violence, incest, trafficking in persons, rape, and other forms of violence and trauma.
- Sheltered persons, besides safe accommodation and meals, are provided with psychological support and therapy, administrative and legal support. In cases where additional help is needed our residents are provided with basic clothing, footwear, school assets for their children, expenses of medical treatments, and small pocket money for daily needs. In regards to organisation of life in the shelter, our clients are enabled to participate in occupational therapy program, or have possibility to attend to vocational training programmes.
- Medica Shelter is of open type with permanent surveillance by the police.
- Length of stay in shelter is not predefined and is estimated upon individual assessment of each client’s needs.
